Deadly Moscow Bomb Hits Italian Restaurant, Kills Three

At least three people were killed and 21 injured when a homemade explosive device detonated at an Italian restaurant on Kudrinskaya square in Moscow's city centre.

The blast occurred at about 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT). The National Anti‑Terrorist Committee said a woman carrying the bomb tried to enter the restaurant, which was hosting a private event, but was stopped by a security guard before she could press the detonator.

BBC Russia editor Steve Rosenberg, who was at the scene, said the explosion caused significant damage and widespread panic.
