An explosion on Friday morning at the Biscailuz Center Academy Training facility in East Los Angeles resulted in the tragic deaths of three police officers, according to officials. The blast happened around 07:30 local time (15:30 BST) in the parking area of the Special Enforcement Bureau, leading to significant response efforts from emergency services.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi described the incident as "horrific" and confirmed that federal agents were dispatched to the scene to assist in inquiries into the cause of the explosion and to determine if there were additional casualties. Currently, information regarding the exact cause remains unclear.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been informed about the incident and is actively monitoring the unfolding situation.
