American rapper Kanye West has announced the postponement of an upcoming concert in Marseille, France 'until further notice'. It comes a week after this summer's Wireless Festival - which West had been scheduled to headline - was cancelled following the UK government's decision to block him from entering the country. French media reports indicate that Interior Minister Laurent Nunez was looking to ban the 11 June gig, with a source close to Nunez stating he was 'highly determined' to prohibit the event.

For the last several years, West has faced backlash for a string of antisemitic, racist, and pro-Nazi comments. 'After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice,' West stated early Wednesday in a post on X. He further emphasized his dedication to making amends and taking responsibility, expressing concerns about putting his fans in the middle of his controversies.
West was scheduled to perform in several other European countries throughout May, June, and July, as well as in New Delhi, India, later in May. Although reports confirm no plans to ban his performance in some countries, West's recent controversies continue to raise questions about his public appearances and image.
