A Russian drone has violently impacted a block of flats in eastern Kyiv, claiming the lives of six people and injuring dozens more, during a new wave of strikes across the Ukrainian capital.

Eyewitness accounts, like that of resident Vita, narrated how the drone penetrated the building and exploded, resulting in catastrophic damage.

In retaliation, Ukraine has increased its assaults on Russian oil infrastructure, targeting a key export terminal in Novorossiysk along the Black Sea, leading to significant devastation, including damage to the Sheskharis oil refinery and hitting nearby structures.

Krasnodar's governor reported injuries to crew members in attacks on oil facilities, leading to a suspension of oil exports. President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the bombardment, asserting that Ukraine deployed long-range cruise missiles, but specifics on targets were not disclosed.

Zelensky condemned the strikes as malicious and intricate, stating about 430 drones and 18 missiles were launched, resulting in partial destruction of numerous high-rise buildings. He characterized the assaults as calculated attempts to maximize civilian harm and infrastructure vandalism.

The drone attack on a market in Chornomorsk also resulted in two fatalities, further underscoring the perilous situation as civilian areas are often targeted.

In Kyiv, the night's assault impacted almost every district, with officials urging residents to seek shelter as alarms sounded following midnight. Emergency services reported that collapsed sections of the residential building destroyed entire floors, with rescuers retrieving multiple bodies from the wreckage.

The wave of attacks, continuing from earlier Russian offensives that resulted in six deaths last week, demonstrates the ongoing humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the conflict. The Ukrainian air force has also warned about multiple targets being hit across different regions, further complicating the already dire security situation.
