Night scene on country road

A suitcase discovered near the village of Oallen three days earlier sparked a brief criminal investigation after police initially described its contents as human remains.

Forensic analysis later proved the object inside was not a body but a highly detailed, lifelike doll, complete with clothing, hair and even a nose piercing.

Senior Superintendent Linda Bradbury explained that the doll’s features had made the initial assessment of “human” realistic, but laboratory tests confirmed it was an artificial replica.

Police closed the inquiry once the evidence ruled out homicide, reaffirming that all scene‑preservation protocols were observed.
